In September 2014, the Belneftekhim concern made a decision to innovate the approach to setting retail prices for motor fuel. Now the price of AI-92 gasoline will depend on the index of the change in the exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble against the US dollar and will be equal to it. Prices for this type of fuel are valid for all Belarusian filling stations (Lukoil-Belarus, RN-Zapad, Gazprom-Belnefteprodukt, United Company, Astotrading, etc.).

The new pricing mechanism for retail petroleum products has raised a number of questions in society and in departmental structures, in particular, will gasoline prices fluctuate from day to day, or will the government restrain inflation, will this lead to even greater real dollarization of the country's economy, etc.

In 2015, the government of the Republic of Belarus is going to increase excise taxes on motor fuel by 10% again, depending on the environmental class. Today, excise taxes on gasoline "take" from 16 to 24 percent of the retail price.

Also, a program was developed to develop a network of filling stations in Belarus, according to which by 2015 their number will increase and will amount to 850 filling stations.

Currently, the leader in the retail market of petroleum products has been and remains the State Production Association “Belorusneft”, through which about 64 percent of all motor fuel is sold on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

To date, fuel prices in Belarus are distributed as follows:

AI-92 $ 1

AI-95 $ 1, 06

DT Euro-5 $ 0, 87

DT $ 0.86

PBA gas $ 0.58

For comparison, the lowest fuel prices in the world are in Venezuela - $ 0.01, and the highest - in Norway, $ 2.26. The average price for gasoline per liter around the world. is $ 1.24. In Russia - $ 0.83.

According to statistics, in 2011 in the Republic of Belarus, fuel prices rose 11 times, in 2012 the price increase was recorded four times, and in 2013 - five times. In 2014, the third increase in prices for motor fuel was noted.
