From July 1, 2012, Mercedes-Benz dealers in Russia will start accepting orders for the compact city two-seater Smart car. According to the Autonews.ru website, Smart Fortwo will go on sale on July 31. Its price will be 640 thousand rubles or more.
According to Autonews.ru, the micro-car in Russia will be available in 2 trim levels, namely Pure and Passion. There will be 2 engine options - Smart Fortwo 62 kW and Smart Fortwo 52 kW mhd. With the first engine, the car will be able to accelerate to hundreds of kilometers per hour in 10, 7 seconds, and with the second - in 13, 7 seconds. The fuel consumption of the new Smart micro car is about 4.2 liters per hundred kilometers in the combined cycle. In this case, the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere will not exceed 97 grams per kilometer.
The base Smart package includes airbags, electronic stability control, or ESP, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electric power steering, heated seats and air conditioning.
Smart compact cars on the European market were also produced in the Roadster (sports coupe), Crossblade (convertible) and Smart Forfour (four-seater) modifications. In addition, in 2008, the Mercedes-Benz concern presented the Smart Fortwo ED two-seater electric car.
And here is what motorists think about the new microcars from Mercedes-Benz. It should be limited to listing the obvious pros and cons of this type of car. The disadvantages include, so to speak, the austerity of the interior, that is, the car is far from cheap, and its equipment is rather meager.
Tall people will not be comfortable sitting in Smart, because the seat does not move far. There is no height adjustment, and even the backrest is static in the passenger seat. However, the view is not bad - the windshield is low. Smart does not have a hood, the engine is very low, there is no special protection for it, so on the off-road you can break through the crankcase in no time.
A separate story is service. There are very few Smart maintenance workshops, since it has a specific device, and its cost will cost a pretty penny. Fortunately, the high cost of repairs pays off with low fuel consumption.
As for the pluses, there are not so few of them. As already noted, the fuel consumption is very low. Smart looks pretty nice. You are guaranteed attention on the roads. Although there are more and more such cars on the roads every year, they are slowly getting used to them, there are such spectacular and still new-looking examples like the Smart Roadster.
The convenience of parking is obvious - the car is small, it can get up where the rest simply won't turn around.
The road behavior of Smart cars is highly rated. They are stable, even at maximum speed, namely 140-160 km / h, nothing pops or rattles, the steering wheel does not get out of hand.
