Only a week is left before the world debut of the all-new Scala model and, apparently, therefore, Skoda has chosen the right time to unveil more information about the compact hatchback. The novelty, which will replace not only the regular Rapid, but also the Rapid Spaceback will have a beautiful interior with better materials and a lot more technology.
Official images, which of course show the top Scala model, will feature leather upholstery and dual-zone climate control. Control will be displayed on a fully digital instrument panel and a 9.2-inch touchscreen on the center console.
While current Skodas have a media system integrated into the dashboard, the new five-door hatch will arrive with a tablet-style display, which has already become a trend in the coming years.
A large display in the middle of the console has helped Skoda get rid of a lot of physical buttons, so the interior has a simple configuration without the unnecessary complexity that is usually formed by pressing too many controls. parts were taken from other models. Of course, we are talking about the steering wheel, power window buttons, not to mention the "virtual cockpit" and the start / stop button.
Interestingly, Skoda decided to keep the traditional handbrake rather than use an electronic system that would free up more space between the seats. And this factor can become important for customers, because many people do not like tiny handbrake buttons.
The presentation of the model is scheduled for December 6 in Tel Aviv, and the car itself is scheduled to enter the market in 2019.
