Such a problem may arise after refueling with low-quality gasoline, if you wish to share the fuel with a driver who is "stranded" on the highway, or in connection with the need to repair the gas tank. As practice shows, not all owners of the top ten clearly know what to do in this case.

Instructions

Step 1

Unfortunately, none of the operating instructions for the car describes this procedure. Some owners of "dozen" recommend the following: disconnect the hose from the carburetor, lower it into the jar and start the engine. The method is not very efficient. With a large amount of gasoline in the tank, you will have to mess around for a long time. In addition, it is unsafe for the gasoline pump. If the tank is empty, the fuel pump may burn out, since gasoline is a coolant during its operation.

Step 2

There is another simple way, practiced by folk craftsmen, - remove the gasoline from the tank using a long-nosed enema. If, according to the instrument readings, your tank is almost empty, open the hatch under the seat, unscrew the nuts and studs, disconnect the fitting pads and completely dismantle the fuel pump. The remaining fuel can be removed with a hose.

Step 3

If you are in no hurry and you have the opportunity to drive the car onto an overpass or into a pit, then disconnect the clamp connecting the gas line to the tank and drain the remaining fuel. If the tank is damaged, requiring a thorough repair, it will have to be dismantled. After dismantling, the tank must be freed from fuel residues, rinsed thoroughly with a special detergent, and then rinsed with hot water.

Step 4

There is another problem that drivers face - the formation of condensation, which is water that forms on the walls of the gas tank and mixes with the fuel. In addition, it contributes to the appearance of rust, particles of which also mix with gasoline and can clog the gas line.

Step 5

A radical way to get rid of this scourge is to remove the tank and rinse it thoroughly. Another, easier way, is to warm up the car in the garage, pour isopropyl alcohol into the gas tank. Then shake the machine as far as possible so that the liquids in the tank mix well, start the machine and let it run.
