The immobilizer is a sophisticated switch system that can be used to prevent unauthorized access to the vehicle. But the work of the immobilizer consists not so much in giving a sound or light signal when an attempt is made to steal a vehicle, but rather in preventing the hijacking itself. However, sometimes the only correct solution to start the engine is to turn off the stock immobilizer on a BMW or other car.
It is necessary
- - BMW car;
- - emulator.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you start disabling the immobilizer, carefully study the design features of this device. Typically, a standard BMW immobilizer consists of three main components: a control unit, an electromagnetic relay, and a key. So, it is the electromagnetic relay that breaks the wiring during unauthorized entry.
Step 2
Disconnect the immobilizer directly in the engine control unit. This hidden switch can be disconnected either physically or by cutting the wire from the engine control unit to the immobilizer.
Step 3
Disconnecting this switch, be sure to make changes in the non-volatile memory of the engine control unit, which is responsible for the operation of this unit. Such changes, as a rule, do not affect the general operation of the vehicle, but only the side that concerns the inclusion of the car engine.
Step 4
To disable the immobilizer, install an emulator in the engine control unit or modify the automotive electrical circuit. As a rule, the emulator is a board, "stuffed" with a microprocessor and a certain set of electronic components.
Step 5
Please note that disabling the immobilizer on a BMW, as well as activating this installation, must be carried out by the owner of the vehicle, because it is he who has a special coded electronic key. In other words, to disable the immobilizer, dial this code.
