The factories of the GM automobile concern can be found on almost all continents where people live. In particular, only in Russia GM has organized the work of three enterprises at once, which produces almost the entire model range of Chevrolet.
If the development of a car was carried out, for example, in the USA, then this does not mean at all that all cars of this brand will be produced only in the USA. As a rule, carmakers have assembly facilities all over the world. Therefore, when buying a vehicle, the question always arises of where it was assembled. Many believe that the quality of the European assembly is higher than the domestic one, although this, of course, is a moot point.
Foreign enterprises
The vehicles of the brand in question are assembled in almost all continents of the planet. As a rule, cars are sold in the same countries in which they are produced, so the chance that you will be able to purchase an American-assembled car in Russia is negligible. One of the largest enterprises, which produces almost the entire range of cars in question, is located in Detroit, USA. The second large facility was built in South Korea. Here the plant was named GM-DAT, and cars from the assembly line of this enterprise are sold in Europe and Russia. In addition, Chevrolet production facilities of small capacity are located in Brazil and Argentina.
Enterprises located in Russia and neighboring countries
The first joint venture GM-AvtoVAZ appeared in Russia in 2002. Now it carries out SKD-assembly of Thoe, TrailBlazer and, of course, Chevrolet Niva models. At the same time, a car plant was built in Kaliningrad, which was named "Avtotor". Models such as Lacetti, Aveo, Rezzo, Evanda are assembled here. In 2006, in Shushary near St. Petersburg, the construction of another car plant was completed, where the production of C-class vehicles and the Captiva SUV began. The near abroad also did not go unnoticed by GM. In 2006, on the basis of the Ukrainian plant ZAZ, the production of the Lanos car was organized.
Since most factories carry out SKD-assembly, that is, cars are assembled from ready-made components, the quality of products is practically no different from that, for example, that is produced in the USA or South Korea.
