Japanese industrial company Honda, which makes motorcycles and cars, has announced that it is recalling more than 320,000 vehicles, according to a Reuters news agency. These are the 2012 CR-V 2012 crossovers and 2013 Acura ILX sedans from around the world.
The reason for the recall of the cars is a probable defect in the door locks. According to Japanese automakers, the detected malfunction did not lead to a single engine stop or accident. However, this decision was made after receiving complaints from Japanese customers.
The defect is that the simultaneous use of the salon handles of the front doors and the electric lock leads to the disconnection of the cable, as a result of which the door does not open or does not close. A malfunction was also found in the operation of the engines. More precisely, there was a problem with the cooling system of the motor, which led to its stop.
Most of these vehicles were sold in Japan, China, North and South America. In North America, 73,00 Acura ILX sedans of the 2013 model year were sold and will also be recalled.
Honda began to deal with the recall of its cars quite often. Note that in March 2010, the company recalled the Honda Element crossovers with release in 2007-2008. Malfunctions were found in the brake pedals, in which air accumulated. As a result, it was necessary to press on them with effort.
And in May 2011, the company recalled about 1.5 million vehicles in the United States. The basis for troubleshooting was the automatic transmission software update due to a possible defect in the airbags. Then the service campaign touched upon Honda and Acura cars produced in 2001-2003.
At the same time, in early spring of this year, Honda recalled to the United States almost 554,000 Pilot 2003 and CR-V 2002-2004 models.
Returning cars for service almost ten years after production is a rare occurrence for such an international company. The reason for the unplanned recall was a malfunction that was discovered in the headlight electrical supply system.
As it turned out, crossovers have never managed to become world bestsellers, although they have many advantages.
