Step 1
Check the rest of the doors first. Even if the driver's door cannot be opened, there is a chance that at least one of the passenger doors has not suffered too much from the cold and will give in without much effort. Step 2
Try to open the frozen door by pulling it forcefully. If you lack the strength of your hands, use a lever - for this, for example, any sufficiently strong wooden bar that can be inserted between the door and the body will do. This method can bear fruit, however, it is associated with a high probability of damaging the door or any of its elements. Therefore, you should use this method only if you do not have any extra time at all, and you need to get behind the wheel as soon as possible. In addition, apply the force method to the door that you use least often, so that if it is damaged, the need for repair is not too urgent.
Step 3
Try to warm up the lock, because the problem may lie in it, and not in the door itself and rubber seals frozen to the body. The easiest way is to use a lighter: bring it to the lock and hold it there for a few minutes. For greater efficiency of the method, not only the lock, but also the key can be heated in this way. After that, you can try to open the door. It is important not to overdo it with the applied effort, otherwise the lock may become unusable.

If the door does not open after heating with a lighter, try the hot water method. You need to pack it in a small plastic bottle or even a regular plastic bag. Attach the container with water to the lock as tightly as possible so that it quickly begins to give off heat. This method may take longer than the previous one, but its advantages can be called not only that it heats the lock more efficiently, but also its safety for the surface of the car body.
