Cabin filters are designed to clean the air entering the passenger compartment from road dust, soot and exhaust gases. Such a filter is usually installed after the air intake, but before the heater or air conditioner.

It is necessary

  • - key for 10
  • - Torx T20 screwdriver
  • - crosshead screwdriver

Instructions

Step 1

Open the hood and remove the rubber seal covering the edge of the soundproofing trim.

Step 2

Use a wrench to unscrew the two nuts, and then with a Phillips screwdriver the self-tapping screws holding the windshield trim. Remove the cover.

Step 3

Unscrew the wiper fastening nuts with a wrench and remove them; before removal, it is desirable to make marks of the initial position in any available way.

Step 4

Remove a few screws and remove the windshield frame lining, remembering that the washer hose is attached to it from below. Then remove the noise insulation in the same way.

Step 5

You now access the filter.

Step 6

The description below will help to change the cabin filter in VAZ models of the tenth family. "Priora" and "Kalina" have a different specificity.

Remove the rubber seal, windshield trim and wipers by unscrewing the fasteners holding them.

Step 7

Remove the three plastic plugs covering the right windshield cover screws by prying gently with a flat screwdriver, then remove the screws.

Step 8

Unscrew the three screws on the right side of the engine compartment sound insulation panel and then pull out the right-hand trim.

Step 9

Now you need to unscrew the four screws securing the cabin filter and remove its cover.

Step 10

It remains to remove the filter itself from the air intake housing, replace it with a new one, and reassemble in the reverse order.

Step 11

It remains to clarify some details. On "Kalina" the right overlay is not installed, and the filter is under a plastic casing, which is removed with some effort (you need to move it towards the opposite wing, and then lift it up). In addition, on some cars of the VAZ family, the filter can be positioned vertically, which can cause some inconvenience.
