Necessary

  • - new filter;
  • - screwdriver.

Instructions

Step 1

Disconnect the cabin filter on your vehicle to avoid any interference with the work. On the Opel Astra, it is located behind the glove compartment (glove compartment), on the left side of it. Looking there, you will find self-tapping screws that attach the cabin filter to the car body. Unscrew them and pull the filter in your direction.

Step 2

Disconnect after this step the connector that should be connected to the lamp illuminating the glove box. Next, completely pull out the glove compartment. You should remember that there is a mount at the top of the glove compartment that is not easy to open due to the strong resistance. To overcome this and simplify the process, pull the glove box towards you and swing it from side to side at the same time. If you do it in this way, then the process of removing the glove compartment will not be difficult.

Step 3

Then remove the decorative strip that is attached to the air ducts. These air ducts are responsible for keeping warmth at the level of the feet of the passenger in the front seat. This pad is attached with two swivel clips. This design will allow you to remove the pad quickly and effortlessly. When you take out the glove compartment, you will find three screws on the cabin filter cover. Unscrew them one at a time. After completing this action, pay attention to the fasteners located below and above. You need to snap them off.

Step 4

Find the butt end of the cabin filter and grasp it. After that, begin to gently pull it towards you, trying to bend it slightly. Accuracy and care are needed here in order to prevent dust and dirt from falling out of the filter.

Step 5

Take an old, cleaned or new filter and place it back in place with the utmost care. Try not to break the plastic frame during this time. Also remember to put the filter on the right side. Then push in until it stops and assemble the entire structure completely.
