Instructions
Step 1
The cabin filter on the Opel Astra is located behind the glove compartment, also called the glove compartment, on the left side. For the convenience of performing work, you need to disconnect it. Unscrew the self-tapping screws that secure it to the car body and carefully pull it towards you.
Step 2
Disconnect the connector that is connected to the glove compartment lamp and finally pull the glove compartment out. Remember that there is a latch at the top, which is difficult to overcome. To facilitate this process, pull the glove compartment and wiggle it from side to side, at the same time pulling slightly towards you.
Step 3
Then detach the decorative trim that is attached to the air ducts that heat the feet of the front passenger. This pad is held in place by two swivel clips, so you can easily remove it. After removing the glove compartment, you will see three screws that are located directly on the filter cover. After this procedure, unscrew the two fasteners located at the top and one at the bottom.
Step 4
After you see the end of the filter, grasp it and carefully pull it towards you, while trying to bend it slightly. Be very careful and careful when carrying out this procedure: dirt and dust may fall from the filter.
Step 5
Take a new filter or a cleaned old one and carefully try to put it in its place. Be careful not to break the plastic frame, which is quite a challenge. Do not forget to bend it slightly at the same time, which can be done with the help of your right hand, which needs to crawl over it and direct it into the interior. Make sure to put it on the right side. Then push it all the way inside and assemble the structure in reverse order.
