In winter, car doors often freeze so badly that the vehicle is completely blocked and you cannot get into it. A few simple tips will help you keep the situation under control and still open the car.
Necessary
- - means for defrosting locks
- - lighter or matches
- - car key
- - petroleum jelly
Instructions
Step 1
In order to open a seemingly completely frozen car, try using another door first. It seems obvious, but many people forget to check the additional doors in a situation where they cannot open the driver's compartment.
Step 2
If the winter turned out to be cold, then it will not be superfluous to buy a means for defrosting locks for the season. Defrosting can easily be used when you need to open a frozen car. Just insert the defrost spout into the frozen lock, spray once or twice and open the door with the key.
Step 3
Try to warm up a frozen lock with a lighter or matches. Warm up the car key for a few seconds, then insert it into the lock and try to unlock the door. If it was not possible to open the frozen car the first time, repeat these manipulations several times. But don't burn yourself - the key is hot.
Step 4
You can try to get into a frozen car with … Vaseline. Lubricate the key with it and try to open the door. It may require you to lubricate the key again, so after the first failed attempt, do not despair, everything will work out.
