The choice of the supported equipment is always difficult and requires from the buyer not only attentiveness, but also certain knowledge. The seller always strives to sell his product as expensive as possible, even though it does not possess the declared properties. But this does not mean that all used goods are of poor quality. A competent and responsible approach will be enough not to be disappointed in the purchase in the future.

Engine inspection

Start at the heart of the problem. Nobody will like to buy and immediately repair. Decide what you can save on so that the moped remains of decent quality, but reduces the price.

First of all, inspect the engine, because this is exactly the main link, on which you cannot save in any way. The fact that the seller washed the engine does not mean that he treated the moped with care and conscientiousness, perhaps he wanted to hide the places where the engine oil sniffs.

Pay special attention to such an engine. There must be a gasket between the base of the engine and the side covers to prevent oil from leaking out of the engine. Its absence suggests that the previous owner eliminated any problem in the engine, you should check with him about this. The oil seal under the kick starter foot must be dry. Next, inspect the fuel distribution mechanisms.

They are of two types: the first of them is a carburetor mechanism, the second is an injection mechanism.

The carburetor type of engine is much cheaper, and it will be easier to understand the carburetor. If suddenly there is some kind of malfunction, then the replacement of the part will not be burdensome at its cost. The engine sound should be smooth and slightly howling. A howl indicates a good condition of the motor chain. If you release the clutch, the howling should stop. There should be no ringing, crackling or interruptions in work. The presence of ringing in the cylinders indicates significant wear on the piston pins. Cod most often emit a crankshaft. Their malfunction will lead to engine seizure. Interruptions in work are either spark plugs or an electric coil, as it is also called, a babin. The gearbox should shift with ease. When shifting, none of the speeds should fly out or jam.

The operation of a moped with a manual gearbox is much easier than with a motorcycle-type gearbox.

Inspection of the chassis and exterior

When inspecting the undercarriage, pay attention to the chain, tires, front and rear shock absorbers. The chain should be covered with a special cover to protect it well from dust. Tires must not be cracked and the tread size must be at least three millimeters. Shock absorbers should provide a smooth ride. The presence of oil leaks indicates the poor quality of the shock absorber oil seals.

Moving on to the motorcycle lining, it should be noted that this is exactly what you can save on. The presence of dents and scratches in the allowable volume will significantly lower the price. The main thing is that there is no rust and frame cracks.
