In today's driving conditions, when multimillion-dollar megacities are exhausted from traffic jams, it is quite difficult to protect the paintwork of your four-wheeled friend from various kinds of scratches and chips. How to maintain the appearance of your pet in proper condition?
Instructions
Step 1
Try to repair scratches and chips by completely repainting the damaged part. But remember that full painting of a part is quite expensive, and the quality of the factory coating is lost after repainting. If the scratch is small, you can repair it yourself. First, pick up paint from an auto enamel store. To do this, you need to remove the gas tank flap from the car and come with it to the store. An experienced consultant will carry out a computer selection of paint according to the details you brought. For an ordinary scratch, 70 grams of paint is enough.
Step 2
Before painting over a scratch, wash the car well and wipe it dry with a rag or rag. Carry out all painting work in the garage or special box. This will protect the painted area of the machine part from the harmful effects of sunlight and other adverse weather conditions.
Step 3
Paint over the scratch on the car's paint with a thin brush (you can paint with gouache). There are ready-made spray paint cans, which come with a brush. This option is more practical and convenient to use. Be sure to shake up the paint before using it, both in the first and in the second case.
Step 4
If the scratch is deep or reaches the metal, you must first clean it up to the factory primer with a "zero" sandpaper, and then degrease with acetone. After degreasing, put the primer and dry (you can use a regular hair dryer). Clean the resulting surface again with sandpaper and lay the next layer of soil. Repeat the above procedure several times. In case of a mistake, remember that the primer is easily washed off with acetone. Putty the scratch and remove the protruding layer of putty with sandpaper. Start spraying the previously purchased paint onto the prepared area. Keep a can of paint strictly within the distance indicated in the instructions. If you spray paint from a close distance, then smudges will form, and if the distance is further than necessary, you will get a matte surface (the paint will dry before reaching the part). Allow the painted area to dry well and refrain from driving on that day.
