Scratches on a car are a common thing for any car enthusiast. They can appear even in completely harmless situations. Repairing such defects in car services is expensive, so we will try to carry it out on our own.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a close look at the scratch: if it is shallow and only touches the paint to the primer, then use a polish. To improve the effect, before polishing, apply a special paste called "Anti-scratch" to the damaged area, wait for it to dry, and then polish the area.
Step 2
Get a scratch removal tube that looks like a regular glue stick. With this tool, cover not only scratches, but also small abrasions on the car body. Remember that it has one significant drawback - it is rather unstable, so it will last for a short time. Repeat the procedure after a while, as you see that it is necessary. To improve its properties, thoroughly degrease the surface before each application.
Step 3
Buy special brushes that perfectly mask all scratches on the body. This product is somewhat reminiscent of mascara. Remember that reapplication is not possible because the paint inside the tube dries quickly after opening. However, the advantage of this type of scratch repair is that it can cover up deep enough defects, and the paint contains fiberglass, so a preliminary primer is not required.
Step 4
Cover the scratch with a can of paint, carefully match the color to the tone of the car. Deep scratches can also be repaired in this way. Pre-thoroughly degrease the surface. Then sand the scratched area and apply an anti-corrosion primer. Wait a while for this composition to dry. Then apply paint to the surface to be repaired, wait for it to dry, and repeat the operation. There can be several layers, it depends on the depth of the scratch.
