Step 1
To consecrate a car in any of the Orthodox parishes, it is enough to approach the priest with this request. It is best to agree in advance about your intention and sign up for a specific time in the church shop in the temple. There is usually no fixed price for the consecration of a car (apartment, office, etc.). The car owner himself decides, in accordance with his financial capabilities, how much he can donate and pay to the cashier.
Step 2
There is no need to fast specifically for this before the car is consecrated. It is advisable for a woman to cover her head, although this is not a fundamental condition.
Step 3
Make sure your car is pre-washed. In order for the priest to sprinkle holy water on the car during the rite of consecration, you need to come to the consecration with a clean, empty interior and trunk.
Step 4
After driving the car to the church, open the doors, hood and trunk of the car. The priest will read several prayers and then sprinkle it with holy water. An icon is attached to the front panel in the car interior with a magnet or glue (it can be purchased in advance in a church store or shop).
Step 5
When the car is consecrated, the priest asks God to provide him with an angel for keeping travelers in it. It should be remembered that the sanctification of a thing is its dedication to God. Therefore, only the outer ritual part is not enough to prevent the car from getting into an accident. A person must also correspond to this internally.
Step 6
After this ceremony, one must not use foul language, smoke, or drink alcohol in the car. After all, by consecrating his car, its owner thereby undertakes not to commit immoral acts in it. Therefore, you need to have an icon in the car and not keep images of frivolous content, transport objects that are dangerous to other people. In addition, while driving, it is undesirable to listen to vulgar or heavy music, as well as to use obscene language after violators. Otherwise, sanctification is meaningless.
