Judge for yourself, because the entire crank mechanism becomes lighter, it is easier for burning fuel to rotate the crankshaft and push the pistons. Consequently, more energy is left for the wheels of the car. But do not forget about the lubrication system, as the standard one may not cope with the increased power. Troubleshoot the oil pump, reducing all gaps between its housing and the engine block.

The flywheel also needs to be changed during tuning. It must be sharpened to the maximum. It is best not to do this yourself, since balancing is required after grinding. If you do not do it, then when the engine is running, there will be extraneous knocks and vibrations. The cooling system also requires changes, it is desirable to increase the area of the cooling radiator. If possible, you can even use a pump with a large number of blades for better fluid circulation.

Break-in after repair

Be careful with the engine on which the components have been lightened as much as possible. Drive off carefully, as with a light flywheel, the car will start abruptly. Try not to increase the revs, the maximum speed should be no more than 90-100 km / h. The better you run in, the longer you will not be aware of engine problems.

It is not necessary to run-in on new cars, because assembly and adjustment is carried out using the latest high-precision robots. But after a major overhaul, it takes some time to drive in a sparing mode. Only after ten thousand kilometers you will feel that the engine has "come to life" and added more horses. Don't be discouraged if you don't feel it when you leave the garage.
