A forced timeout can play a cruel joke on the motorist, as a result of which he can forget the sequence of actions when assembling the drive.

Necessary

  • - a hammer,
  • - extension,
  • - pliers.

Instructions

Step 1

Before starting the assembly of front wheel drives, it must be borne in mind that the shafts are not interchangeable with each other, and intended for installation on the left side: shorter than the right.

Step 2

The front constant velocity joints are not subject to any remanufacturing and, if any of the four is found to have a backlash, then it is indisputably replaced by a new one.

Step 3

Despite the fact that work has to be done, during which you will have to get pretty dirty, getting sand or dirt into the CV joints is unacceptable. Therefore, stock up on hand rags for the period of repair.

Step 4

The assembly begins with fixing the drive shaft in a locksmith's vice, on which an external constant velocity joint is first installed, approximately forty cubic centimeters of SHRUS-4 grease is put into it, and a rubber boot is put on. If the assembly of the assembly is difficult, then cautious hammer blows are applied to its holder through the extension.

Step 5

Having finished with the installation of the outer one, put the rubber boot of the inner CV joint on the shaft, moving it closer to the already mounted unit.

Step 6

Install the internal constant velocity joint on the drive shaft, put eighty cubic centimeters of the specified grease into it, and then slide the rubber boot over the assembly from above.

Step 7

Install and tighten one at a time using a special tool the four clamps on the two installed rubber boots, remembering to remove excess air from under them.

Step 8

The same procedure is carried out with the second drive shaft. Then they are installed on the machine.
