A burnt-out clutch disc, or completely worn out, greatly affects the ride comfort. Even a small detail like a release bearing can make a lot of noise. Therefore, you have to remove the gearbox and change the clutch.

Necessary

  • - wheel chocks;
  • - safety supports;
  • - a set of keys and screwdrivers;
  • - scrap;
  • - clutch kit.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the vehicle for repairs by placing it on an overpass, pit or lift. Place stops under the rear wheels, and also apply the handbrake. Disconnect the battery and remove it to provide more space under the hood. Remove the front wheel bolts, jack up one side first, then the other. Remove the wheel bolts completely and support the vehicle. If there are no special supports, then wooden blocks can be used. Do not place bricks or blocks under the machine, as they may crumble under load. You need to remove both wheels in order to carry out further repairs.

Step 2

Unscrew the nut from the ball joint, then, using a special puller, remove the ball pin from the hub. Also remove the tie rod ends to make the removal of the actuators a little easier. To remove the tips, you will need to remove the cotter pins and unscrew the nuts, then press out the fingers with a puller. After that, only the drives can be removed from the hubs. Now you need to rid the gearbox of all that is unnecessary. It is necessary to disconnect the rod coming from the switch lever, the wiring harness screwed to the box, also disconnect and take to the side, remove the starter and turn off the hydraulic clutch. After that, just proceed with further actions.

Step 3

Place a support under the engine so that it does not tilt to the side when removing the box. You can make the task easier by placing a crossbar on top, to which you need to tie up the engine with cables. The box is also attached to the body by means of a pillow, which must be disconnected. You can drain the oil from the gearbox to make the gearbox a little lighter. But, carrying out all the actions carefully, you will not spill a drop of lubricant, and the mass of the entire unit will decrease by a negligible value. Now it remains to unscrew the bolts that secure the gearbox to the engine. Just before removing the box, install a jack under it so that it does not fall, but is flush with the engine.

Step 4

Remove the old release bearing, install a new one in its place. Otherwise, you can forget about it afterwards, and its service life is not always high. Now you need to unscrew the clutch basket. First, rip off all the bolts, only then unscrew them. It is necessary to replace not only the basket, clutch release and disc, but also these bolts. Do not install the old ones. Take a new basket and disc, install on the flywheel, lightly tightening the bolts. If you purchased a clutch kit, you will find a plastic guide bush in it. Here it needs to be installed in the driven disk, only after tightening the basket mounting bolts. Now you can start installing the box in place. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
