The changes introduced by the PCA in the field of motor third party liability insurance continue to gain momentum. These reforms are aimed at ensuring fairness of charge, transparency of policy issuance and traffic safety in general. It is important for the driver to carefully understand the requirements for issuing compulsory motor third party liability insurance, since since 2017 it is he who has been given full responsibility for the correctness of the issuance of car insurance policies.
The changes, which will come into force in 2017, will affect two important aspects, namely:
· Introduction of a new mechanism for calculating the cost of car insurance policies, taking into account the accident rate (MSC);
· Obligations for insurance companies of registration of car insurance on the Internet.
E-car insurance
In the event that the insurance company wants to continue to provide such a service as issuing CTP policies, it must provide an electronic service for issuing such policies over the Internet. If the insurers have not yet rebuilt or have provided a low technical level to their portal (website), then RSA does not make discounts for this, and will oblige to pay a fine.
Please note that filling out an electronic policy will require the driver to correctly enter data about himself. If the personal data or information about the car entered into the PCA database is incorrect, and suddenly an accident occurs, then such a policy will be invalidated. The insurance company will exercise the right to refuse payment.
It also makes no sense to look for and choose an insurance company that will sell a compulsory car insurance policy cheaper. If the amount calculated on the basis of legal requirements is underestimated by the insurance company, then payments will also not be made.
Of the convenience of the innovation, it is worth noting the fact that you can receive a formalized and signed by the head of the OSAGO in 2017 by e-mail. It is not necessary to print it, you can just carry it with you, for example, in a smartphone and present it if necessary.
Are you driving carefully? Pay less
KBM is the bonus-malus ratio. The term will soon be familiar to all drivers. Thanks to him, PCA monitors how accurately car owners operate cars and drive a car without accidents. The base MSC is equal to one and will decrease by half a percent if the driver did not compensate for the damage from the accident for the billing year. For "super-careful" drivers, there is a 50% discount for 10 years of impeccable driving.
