A driver's license grants the right of its owner to drive a vehicle. Currently, rights are issued in Russia in accordance with the European standard. The certificate is made in the form of a plastic card (54x86 mm). The owner's photo is located on the left, and his details on the right. Namely: permitted category, number and series of the certificate, last name, first name and patronymic, place of residence, date and place of birth, signature of the owner, date of issue and validity period, stamp of the issuing traffic police department, special marks.

Step 1
If you plan to travel to another country and drive a rented or your own car, find out in advance if your driver's license will be valid in that particular country.
Step 2
You can get an international driver's license from the traffic police department. To do this, prepare the same documents as for obtaining a national driver's license and a valid driver's license.

IDLs are issued according to the UN International Convention standard and are compiled in eight languages. They are presented in the form of a booklet (148 x 105 mm), consisting of 8 white and 4 color pages and a gray cover. The IDL contains the same data as on the national rights and additionally indicates the country in which you were born.
Step 4
Directly on the pages there is a list of countries in which an international driving license is a condition for driving a vehicle.
Step 5
All data is stored in the traffic police database, and if necessary, you can contact the appropriate department to obtain information in case of loss, theft, destruction, etc. of your ID.
