So, one of the reasons why the hood may not open is a broken spring. The easiest way to solve this problem is with the help of a partner. Sit in the car and pull the hood release lever up to the stop and do not release it. Instruct your partner, in parallel with your movements, to press on the hood in the place of its snapping. After a couple of minutes of such efforts, the hood will open.

If the option with a partner is not possible due to his absence, try another option. Pull the hood opening lever to the maximum and fix its position with the help of available means. To do this, use a blade, a piece of stick or tube about 20 cm long, which insert between the left footboard and the lever. After that, you need to carry out the most unpleasant part: drive the Gazelle along sections of roads that are unfavorable for driving: rural roads, paving stones or tram tracks (do not overdo it). In addition, there are several more reasons for the occurrence of such a problem: a worn out spring, or a weakening of the cable. The solution is possible, respectively, in two ways. If the problem is with the cable, pull it up to make it tighter. If, in your opinion, the problem is in the spring, unscrew the hairpin inside the spring by 1-2 turns. In the first option, you will have to work harder, since it is sometimes almost impossible to reach the cable. Remember that the cable jacket is located next to the battery, so loosen or unscrew the clamp fastening bolts a little, pull the jacket to the desired distance and tighten the mount back. However, remember that such a repair will help you solve the problem within 5-6 months. After that, it is recommended to nevertheless replace the cable so that it does not break completely.
