Every car owner wants the interior of his car to have a neat and stylish look. But what if you got a car, the owner of which was not very accurate? Do you really have to drive with old cigarette-burning old seats or spend a lot of money on their hauling in the cabin? Do not be upset - you can drag the seats yourself.
Necessary
- - material for covers;
- - glue in a can;
- - crayon;
- - scissors;
- - detergent for upholstered furniture.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase a suitable webbing material. If finances allow, you can choose natural leather: it will give the salon an expensive look and will last a long time. However, it is very difficult to work with leather, and it will be very unpleasant to spoil an expensive material. Leatherette will cost less. Flock, velor or suede is also a good solution for those who want to save a little.
Step 2
Dismantle the seat and remove it from the passenger compartment. If there are covers on it, you need to remove them and carefully open them. You will use them to cut new covers. Place the material of your choice on the floor, place the old covers on top and carefully circle them with chalk. Pay attention to the direction of the pile on the fabric: it should be directed to one side, otherwise your seats will have a different shade.
Step 3
Cut open the foam that will seal the covers. Spray glue on it and stick the cut material. Do not apply glue with a brush, in this case the foam rubber will not take the desired shape due to insufficient glue impregnation.
Step 4
Take the received parts and sew them according to the markings made. If the foam sticks out, trim the edges with sharp scissors or a foam knife. Areas where there are turns should be firmly pressed against the foam rubber and sewn with a double seam. After finishing the firmware, turn the finished covers upside down.
Step 5
Using special plastic clips, fasten the covers to the frame, having previously straightened them on the seat. Pull the edges of the covers over the frame. Dry the new upholstery with a hair dryer. Remove wrinkles using a not too hot iron.
Step 6
Clean the seat with a suitable detergent. It is better to use those products that are used for cleaning upholstered furniture. Bring the seat into the salon and replace it. Check all fasteners carefully. Your seat is ready.
