Almost the entire line of modern cars of the French company Renault, starting with the Logan model, has the same way of opening the hood. The step-by-step principle of working with the hood of the car is described in the manual for Renault vehicles.
Instructions
Step 1
So you've decided to open the hood of your Logan, Sandero, Clio or Megane. The first thing to do while in the passenger compartment of a Renault car is to find a plastic handle located under the steering wheel, a couple of centimeters to the left of its edge. Pull this handle towards you to open the hood.
Step 2
After that, from the side of the hood, you need to unlock the safety lock for the hood of the car. When working in the immediate vicinity of the engine, be aware that it may be hot. Also remember that the cooling fan can turn on at any time. There is a risk of injury. To unlock the lock, lift the bonnet slightly and release the hook that is attached to the inside of the bonnet (center under the lip). You can release the hook by pushing to the left on the plate, which is located in the center under the hood. It will show up when you lift the hood.
Step 3
Next, lift the Renault hood lid, remove the metal stop from the latch and, which is very important for your own safety, be sure to insert it into the hood lid slot located on the left. Even a field of light impact on the radiator grille or on the bonnet, check the bonnet lock at the service center as soon as possible.
Step 4
To close the hood of the machine, put the stop back into the catch, grasp the middle of the front edge of the hood and lower it, leaving about 20 cm to the closed position, then lower it. The hood will close under its own weight. Before closing the hood, make sure you have not forgotten anything in the engine compartment. Make sure the hood is securely locked.
