The cabin filter cleans the air that enters the car and is therefore recommended to be replaced periodically. It is not difficult to carry out this operation on a Chevrolet Lacetti car if you know some of the nuances.
It is necessary
- - Phillips screwdriver;
- - a small mirror.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the glove compartment and use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the five self-tapping screws that secure it to the car body. After that, gently pull the glove compartment towards you and disconnect the two electrical connectors that fit from the backlight lamp and its switch.
Step 2
Take a small mirror in your hands and carefully run it into the opening. This is necessary in order to quickly find the heads of the four self-tapping screws that fix the filter hatch. Using a screwdriver of the required length, unscrew these screws and set them aside.
Step 3
Remove the carpet from the passenger compartment and remove the hatch. Grasp the filter and pull it out until it stops on the floor. After that, try to press on its sides so that it takes a shape close to a parallelogram, which will allow you to easily remove it from the hole.
Step 4
If you just want to clean a dirty filter, be sure to remember or mark its orientation. When re-installing, try not to use excessive force so as not to damage the pads, which are made of foam, so make the filter the same shape as when removing it. When installing the hatch, pay attention to the fact that in addition to four holes, it has two more, which are intended for guides in the body. To avoid confusion, try using a mirror again.
Step 5
When screwing in self-tapping screws, be careful not to damage the plastic. To check that the glove box is installed correctly, fasten it slightly without tightening the bolts. Take a close look at the gaps in the panel opening, which should be even along the entire length when the glove compartment is closed. If so, then finally secure the structure. If not, loosen the screws and level the drawer by moving it lightly in the desired direction.
