A cabin filter is necessary in order to reduce the ingress of various dirt and dust into the car. This appliance should be changed periodically to prevent unpleasant odors and contamination in the passenger compartment.
It is necessary
New filter, antibacterial agent
Instructions
Step 1
Before replacing, purchase a new cabin filter, which can be found at your auto shop. Open the glove compartment and find the screw that is on the lower right side. Pull the loop gently by hand and away from the cylinder where the screw is located. Be careful not to lose it. Better to put it aside right away.
Step 2
Gently push down on the sides of the glove compartment and pull it towards you to pull it out along the guides. Then press the tabs on both sides of the duct plug and remove it. Remove the old filter, do it as carefully as possible so as not to shake off the dirt and dust accumulated in the filter inside the cabin.
Step 3
Pick up a new filter and spray it with an antibacterial agent such as chlorhexidine. Proceed in a similar manner inside the filter compartment. Then close the filter with a plug and turn on the airflow for recirculation. At the same time, apply the product to all openings of the air duct. Turn on the outdoor air intake and spray liquid into the air duct from the side of the wipers.
Step 4
After all this, install the filter in its original place, making sure to correctly position it. To do this, look at the arrow that points upward, showing the direction of flow. Close the cover and make sure it clicks into place. Then make sure the glove compartment is on its hinges. Place the glove compartment container back into the hinges and squeeze the sides again as you did at the beginning.
Step 5
After the final installation, be sure to let the filter run for a while. If you notice an unpleasant odor, try vacuuming the air ducts through which air enters the vehicle.
