Ambient air quality is poor, especially on our roads. Over time, you begin to notice that the interior takes longer to warm up in winter, the frozen glass does not thaw well, and the glass “sweats” in rainy weather. All these are signs of a damaged cabin filter. With a filter clogged with dust and debris, driving is not only uncomfortable, but even dangerous. Without waiting for the worst, feel free to change it to a new one.
Necessary
A set of keys and screwdrivers, a flashlight, a cabin filter, a vacuum cleaner
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing to start with is buying the filter element itself. Buy it in a specialized store selling spare parts for cars of your brand. It is better to purchase an original part. Having saved a few hundred rubles and purchasing an "identical" part, you can buy a fake, which will not be of proper workmanship, and simply may not be suitable for your car.
Step 2
So, the filter has been purchased, and you are morally disposed to replace the filter yourself. Now you need to decide on the location of the filter on the car. It can be located both outside - at the windshield, under a frill, and in the car's interior - behind the central panel or behind the glove box (glove compartment). The instructions for the car or a neighbor in the garage (parking lot) will help you with this.
Step 3
So we found it. The panel covering the filter can be fixed with screws or clips. We unscrew and disconnect them, freeing up access to the filter. Outside, we remove the frill, in the cabin - plastic panels or a glove box. This will give you access to the location of the filter housing. Open the housing cover and take out the filter element.
Step 4
Before installing a new filter, the seat must be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle. Remove the debris in the filter housing, then wipe the seat with a damp cloth. Take a new filter element and install it in the filter housing. Install the housing cover, securing it with the latch. At this stage, turn on the ignition and check the strength of the air flow from the ventilation holes by switching the stove fan speed. Now install the outside panels, glove box or frill. All is ready.
