Step 1
So, if you close the hood only with significant physical effort, or the closed hood starts to rattle and vibrate on the go, adjust the length of the stem on the locking device. To do this, open the hood and secure it. Use a wrench to loosen the lock nut slightly. Unscrew or screw in 2-3 turns the stem on the locking device using a screwdriver. After tightening the lock nut securely, secure the stem position. Remember that if the piston rod is very short, it will be difficult to open the bonnet. Check the bonnet attachment while driving and if you hear the rattling again, adjust the bonnet lock further.
Step 2
If you observe a hard closing of the hood, in which you hear a metallic knock, you need to make a completely different adjustment. To do this, you will have to change the position in which the receiving part of the locking device is located. In other words, you need to align. To do this, slightly lower the mounting bolts, and move the locking device so that the stem enters it clearly in the center of the hole. After finally fixing the latch, firmly tighten the bolts on its mount. Close the hood and check that nothing obstructs this.
Step 3
If you have completed the adjustment of the lock in accordance with all the recommendations outlined, the hood of the car will no longer bother you. Repeat the adjustment procedures as necessary until you are sure that the fault has been removed.

If the proposed recommendations do not help - the hood is still hard to close or rumbles on the go, contact a car dealership or service center. Surely, you have a more serious problem, and not only the lock will have to be adjusted. In any case, do not leave the problem unresolved, as the further you go, the more difficult it will be to solve it.
