The hood lock installed on the vehicle serves as an additional protection against theft. Nood Lock does not allow you to open the hood lock without a special key and turn off the alarm siren or battery. There are two types of locks - mechanical and electrical. They differ in functionality and method of opening / closing.

Step 1
The mechanical hood lock has a turnkey cylinder. A round braid is attached to the larva, inside which there is a metal cable. The 15 mm thick braid protects against burglary or biting of the cable. The lock larva is attached inside the cabin with self-tapping screws or a hole is drilled under it. The cable itself is pulled into the hood. For this, a special hole is drilled in the compartment. On the engine side, the cable is attached with a special metal clamp so that it cannot be pulled back into the passenger compartment.
Step 2
Installing a lock directly on the hood depends on the selected Hood Lock model. They differ in the way the lock is fastened and locked.
Step 3
There are locks that work in opposition to the standard hood lock.
Step 4
You can bite through the standard lock cable and bring the bite-through parts into a special box with a locking mechanism. In this case, the hood opening handle is idle when the Hood Lock is closed.
Step 5
There is also a hook or sphere-shaped lock on the hood itself. The cable itself from the Hood Lock enters a mechanism that is attached to the front of the engine compartment.
Step 6
The principle of operation of an electric lock is similar to a mechanical one. An electric lock can be in the form of a sphere or a hook, in which a standard lock is fixed.
Step 7
Opening / closing of the lock takes place without using a key, but with the help of an alarm key fob. You can program the alarm so that when the car is armed or disarmed, the lock will open or close. This function can also be programmed for an additional channel. In this case, opening / closing the hood will be done with a separate button on the key fob.
Step 8
The electric lock has an emergency opening cable, which is displayed in the car interior and serves to open the hood in case the alarm key fob is lost or defective.
