Instructions
Step 1
In the case when it is possible to close the hood only by applying considerable force, or vice versa: the closed hood begins to vibrate and rattle on the move, then it is necessary to adjust the length of the locking device stem.
Step 2
In order to eliminate the problems that have arisen, you must do the following:
- open the hood, - slightly loosen the lock nut with a 17 mm wrench, - use a screwdriver to unscrew or tighten the stem of the locking device by two or three turns, - fix its position by tightening the lock nut.
Note that too short a piston rod makes it difficult to open the bonnet.
Step 3
A completely different adjustment is made in cases when there is a "hard" closing of the hood and a metallic knock is heard.
Step 4
To eliminate such a violation, it is necessary to change the location of the receiving part of the locking device. Simply put: it needs to be centered.
Step 5
The adjustment is made as follows:
- the fastening bolts are slightly loosened, - the locking device moves so that the stem enters it strictly in the center of the hole;
- having clearly fixed the latch, tighten the bolts of its fastening.
Step 6
If the adjustment of the lock is made in full accordance with the above recommendations, then the hood of your car will no longer bother you.
