Sometimes, when operating the car, an unpleasant problem may arise - the hood lock cable attached to the opening handle in the passenger compartment breaks. In this case, opening the hood is difficult. But still, it is possible by yourself, without visiting the service center.
It is necessary
In order to get to the bonnet lock, you will need pliers, an overpass or viewing hole and keys to remove the engine protection
Instructions
Step 1
If the cable is cut off so that it can be seen from the passenger compartment, then you can try to pick up the inside of the cable (not the sheath) with pliers and, pulling it towards you, open the lock. This is the easiest way to open. But it is not always "lucky" to break the cable just like that.
Step 2
If the cable breaks just under the hood and it is not possible to get to it from the passenger compartment, then it is necessary to get close to the hood lock itself from the bottom of the car. Start the car on an overpass or inspection pit so that you have free access to the engine compartment. Remove the engine crankcase guard using two keys.
Step 3
Remove the engine boot from the front mountings. Fold it down. Place your hand next to the radiator up to the bonnet lock. Using your hand (or a screwdriver if you cannot get your hand through), firmly push the lock latch to the left while driving. The lock will open.
