The front panel of the car interior is one of the most noticeable parts of the car interior. VAZ cars are no exception. Often, from time to time or careless use, the plastic fades, and the paint stains. So, how to paint the panel of a VAZ car yourself, without going to a car dealership?
Necessary
- - solvent or other degreaser;
- - primer for plastic;
- - matte paint;
- - sandpaper;
- - varnish (optional);
- - scotch tape and newspapers;
- - screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
Take scotch tape and newspapers, cover those parts of the panel where the paint should not get. In particular, pay attention to the inner surface of the windshield and the trim of the side doors. Use a screwdriver to detach the glove compartment lid and remove the cigarette lighter.
Step 2
Wash the panel thoroughly. Make sure dust and old paint are thoroughly removed. Then take a solvent and degrease the plastic of the panel.
Step 3
Dilute the primer and apply it to the car dashboard. Wait 20 minutes for the primer coat to dry. Repeat the procedure several more times with equal time pauses. Do not apply more than three coats on one plastic surface. With an inaccurate primer, smudges and drops may appear. If this cannot be avoided, take sandpaper. Sandpaper the surface and smooth out any irregularities. Let the panels dry and wash the part thoroughly. Degrease the now primed surface again and start painting.
Step 4
Dilute the paint according to the manufacturer's instructions. Then apply the first coat of paint. It should be thin and uniform. Let the surfaces dry for about 20-25 minutes. Next, apply a second layer of paint, already more massive. Pay attention to the uniformity of the dye. Let the paint dry for 15 minutes and start painting the last, third coat. Wait until the paint dries and apply varnish to the painted surface. It can be applied in one or several layers. Allow the previous coat to dry for 10-15 minutes before starting each procedure.
