Many motorists, having learned about the cost of painting a car at special points, often decide that they can do it themselves. But painting a car at home by yourself is seriously different from the procedure carried out by professionals. After all, simply "pouring" paint over your "iron horse" and waiting until it dries is not enough. For high-quality painting, you need to carry out preliminary surface preparation, use special equipment and have at least some painting skills.

Step 1
First, wash your car well with car shampoos and remove all dirt. Then degrease the surface of the body and remove all grease and bitumen stains. Check all parts of the machine carefully for dirt and other contamination.
Step 2
All corrosive foci must be eliminated. Remove old paint by abrasive grinding. For this procedure, silicon carbide and aluminum dioxide are used as abrasives, and the paper for grinding should be selected so that the difference in "number" does not exceed 1000 units. If you use paper of the wrong "number", then after a while stripes will appear on the body, because the material will undergo subsidence. Treat the surface in five passes.
Step 3
Then apply the Primary and Secondary Primer to provide an anti-corrosive finish to the vehicle body. Wait for the soil to dry completely, this takes 2 to 4 hours. In specialized workshops, an infrared drying is available, which allows you to speed up the drying process up to 15 minutes
Step 4
Car painting involves three coats of paint. It is applied by spraying, however, before this procedure, those elements that do not need painting should be protected from paint ingress. Cover them with paper, tape or treat them with compounds that are made from water, chalk, glycerin - they are easily washed off with water.
