Step 1

The essence of the first method is repeated charging of the battery with low current with breaks between charging cycles. To perform cyclic charging, connect the charger to the battery. Set the charging current equal to 4-6% of the nominal battery capacity. The duration of each charge cycle should be 6-8 hours. The duration of the break between charge cycles is 8-16 hours. The number of charge cycles is 4-6. When the electrolyte density reaches the normal value for this type of battery, and the voltage on each section reaches 2.5-2.7 V, stop charging.

Use the second method, if necessary, to restore the battery capacity in a short time (less than 2 hours). Charge the discharged battery in any way. Then fill in the ammonia solution of Trilon B (sodium ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid), consisting of 2% Trilon B and 5% ammonia. Soak the solution in the battery for an hour.

The specified solution will desulfate the battery plates. In this case, gas will be released with the appearance of splashes on the surface of the solution. At the end of the process, gas evolution will stop. If the plates are heavily sulfated, repeat the treatment. After finishing the treatment, drain the solution, rinse the battery with distilled water 2-3 times and fill with electrolyte with normal density. Charge the battery according to the recommendations in the passport to its nominal capacity.

Buy ammonia solution of Trilon B at a car dealer or order at a chemical laboratory. Store it in a dark place in an airtight container.
