Engine mounts dampen vibrations and keep it on the body. They consist of rubber and metal. Rubber tends to dry out, so the fastening becomes unreliable. On the VAZ 2101-2107, replacing the pillows does not take very long, and it can be done even without a viewing hole or a lift.

Two jacks, open-end wrench for 17, spanner wrench for 17, socket wrench for 17, ratchet with extension and cardan, keys for 8 and 10
Instructions
Step 1
Park the car on a flat surface, otherwise, after removing the pillow, the engine may move, place stops under the wheels so that the car does not roll. It is more convenient to carry out the replacement at the inspection pit, but you can cope without it. Unfortunately, not everyone has it. Jack up the left side to the maximum height so you can lie under the machine.
Step 2
Remove the crankcase cover and place a jack under the engine. The ideal option is hydraulic, as it is more convenient to work with. Install it so that the engine does not fall down after removing the mount. Now take a 17 socket wrench with gimbal and extension. You will see a hole in the beam that contains the bottom cushion nut. Unscrew it.
Step 3
Unscrew the top nut using the same 17 socket wrench, you can use a ring or open-end wrench. On the left side of the classic it is quite convenient to work with them, there is enough space. Unscrew the fastening nuts on the right side in the same way. There are fewer amenities there, since the exhaust manifold and starter will interfere. But with the help of a gimbal, this problem goes away.
Step 4
Jack up the engine. Do this carefully and without haste, be careful not to break the wires and pipes. You need to lift it until you can easily pull out the old pillows. Ten centimeters will be enough.
Step 5
Remove old pillows and replace with new ones. Be careful not to pinch them. After installing new pillows, slowly lower the jack. Make sure the pins on the cushions go into their holes. When they get there, screw the nuts on them, after placing the washers.
Step 6
Lower the jack to the end and finally tighten the nuts. This completes the replacement of the pillows on the VAZ 2101-2107 car. Inspect for leaks in the lower radiator pipe. If the motor is lifted, the tube may move slightly if the clamp is not tightened properly.
