It is hardly worth mentioning the consequences that can result from a car engine that is not securely fixed to its supports. They are well known to everyone, and it makes no sense to list them in this article. Therefore, a worn out motor support cushion is replaced in the shortest possible time and without any delay.

Necessary

  • - jack,
  • - 19 mm spanners - 2 pcs.,
  • - a 10 mm spanner.

Instructions

Step 1

Replacing the cushions of the engine mounts to avoid burns to the body is carried out on a cooled engine. To carry out refurbishment, the car is placed on a level surface with the parking brake applied and the first stage in the gearbox engaged. The installation of anti-roll pads under the rear wheels will not impair the safety of such work. If the machine is equipped with an engine crankcase protection, it is dismantled.

Step 2

Then, in the engine compartment, the nuts of the lower and upper fasteners of the worn cushion are unscrewed, after which the front of the car is lifted with a jack, and a certain height (sufficient to lift the engine from the support) a wooden stand is set under the engine crankcase.

Step 3

Having lowered the jack, and thereby raising the engine, the old pillow is removed from the engine compartment and a metal plate with a pin is removed from it, which is rearranged to a new spare part and screwed onto it with two nuts using a 10 mm wrench.

Step 4

Having inserted the pillow into the support, the upper and lower nuts are screwed onto its studs with a 19 mm wrench. And after the stand under the motor sump is removed with the help of a jack, the mount of the pillow is finally tightened with nuts.

Step 5

After washing your hands, the procedure for replacing the engine mount is considered complete.
