Changing lanes by car should be carried out with a full assessment of the traffic situation. Indeed, it is at this moment that a large number of minor accidents occur due to the driver's carelessness. And other road users must be extremely attentive to those cars that perform various maneuvers, often without turning on the turn signal.
Instructions
Step 1
For any maneuver on the road, assess the traffic situation. You must always keep under control of all road users, their position on the road. Chaotically changing cars and motorcyclists, who often drive outside the center of the lane, and between the lanes, should be under special control.
Step 2
Before changing lanes at medium speed, look in the side mirror of the side to which you are going to change lanes. You should estimate the distance to the next car in this lane and its speed. It so happens that the car is far away, but its speed is so high that you will not have time to safely change lanes before it approaches.
Step 3
If there are no cars and you can make a maneuver. Turn on the blinker and look in the mirror again. The traffic situation changes every second. Perhaps at this moment someone from your row also begins to rebuild and may not notice you. In this case, skip it first.
Step 4
When changing lanes, for example, from the two outer lanes to the center lane, the priority is given to the car that is changing lanes from the right lane.
Step 5
To change lanes at high speed in dense traffic, wait until a "window" forms on the free lane. Accelerate the car to the speed of the lane you are about to change to. After turning on the turn signal and assessing the situation in the side and rear rear-view mirrors, start the maneuver. Your vehicle speed should not slow down (only in an emergency). Otherwise, other road users who will be behind you will have to slow down.
Step 6
At the time of changing lanes, avoid skidding and body roll, the car should not be thrown along the lane. And for this, the trajectory of the maneuver should not be large.
Step 7
When changing lanes, do not forget to look at the vehicles in front. Otherwise, you risk losing control of the situation on your lane.
