Changing seasons for motorists means changing tires to the current set. Winter, summer, "spike" or "all-season" - whatever rubber is in use, and the one that "rests" must be somehow stored. Many drivers believe that this process is very difficult and is regulated by a system of rather convoluted rules, but in fact this is not at all the case.

Step 1
The most important thing that is necessary for the proper storage of automobile rubber at home is a room. It doesn't matter if it is a corridor, garage, basement or balcony, the main thing is to comply with simple but mandatory requirements. Tires should be stored in a dark, dry place at temperatures between 10 and 25 degrees above zero. It is advisable that there are no fuels, lubricants, chemicals and petroleum products nearby, as their vapors can damage the rubber. Before storing tires, wash and dry well, remove small stones from the tread. The place where the wheels will be stored must also be kept clean and ventilated every two to three weeks.
Step 2
It is advisable to store the wheels assembled, that is, together with the disks. It is not necessary to specially pump them up or, conversely, to bleed the air. Normal working pressure is ideal for off-season storage. It is recommended to either suspend tires on disks by the central hole in the disks, or fold them in a "well". In the second method, it is recommended to put each wheel in a special cover or bag, as a last resort, put newspapers or fabric between each level in order to exclude possible sticking of tires to each other. Once or twice a month it will be useful to turn and change the wheels.
Step 3
Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to have multiple sets of car rims. If the tires are stored separately, it is highly discouraged to hang or stack them horizontally on top of each other. It would be best to store them upright on a special stand or simply leaning against the wall. In this case, it is also advisable to rotate them a couple of times a month, thereby changing the fulcrum.
