With the arrival of spring, all motorists are in a hurry to "change" their car from winter tires to summer tires, unfortunately, very often this is how it all ends. But changing wheels is only half the battle, the most important thing is to provide all the necessary storage conditions for winter tires so that they subsequently serve for more than one season. The task is not difficult, the main thing is to have the desire and the ability to carry it out.

It is necessary

  • - means for the preservation of tires;
  • - special hooks for hanging.

Instructions

Step 1

First, choose the most suitable storage space for your wheels. It should be dry, clean and cool. It should be free from temperature fluctuations that can lead to the formation of dampness. Temperature and humidity are the main enemies of tires, as they have a greater effect on tire performance than the position in which the wheels are stored.

Step 2

Before removing the wheels from the machine, be sure to mark the direction of the tire tread and mark the place where it stood. For example, the left rear wheel is LZ; right front - PP, etc.

Step 3

After removing the wheels, be sure to thoroughly wash each of them from the remains of sand, dirt and small stones stuck in the tread. Pay special attention to the areas around the thorns. After washing, let the wheels dry thoroughly and treat them with special preservation agents that contain substances that slow down the process of rubber destruction and prevent oxidation.

Step 4

Next, hang the wheels using special hooks on the wall, or fold them in a neat stack on a flat surface. When doing this, do not lower or increase the pressure in the tires. Make sure that there are no fuels, lubricants, solvents and chemicals near the wheels that can damage the rubber. Remember to turn the wheels over once a month so that they do not deform. If the wheels are chambered, insert slightly inflated chambers inside the tires.
