Good condition of car tires is a guarantee of the driver's safety on the road. Therefore, it is necessary to follow some recommendations for their proper storage.
Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly wash and dry the tires removed from the vehicle. Make sure that there is no sand, stones or other foreign bodies in the tread. And only then cover the prepared items with a chemical preservative for rubber. You can buy this product at any specialty store.
Step 2
Place the tires in plastic bags or special covers. Do not pack tightly. Leave a small hole for ventilation. These measures will reduce the risk of disc corrosion.
Step 3
Store rubber in a dark, dry, clean room at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of direct sunlight. They lead to the appearance of small cracks and, consequently, to faster wear of the materials. Watch out for humidity. It doesn't have to be tall.
Step 4
It is preferable to store the wheel assembly at a slightly lower pressure than usual. However, not all vehicle owners have a spare pair of discs. Therefore, you need to know the rules for storing tires without them.
Step 5
Place the tires in a vertical position. Use a semicircular surface as a support. It will soften possible deformation.
Step 6
It is forbidden to stack the rubber or keep it in a suspended state, as in this case, damage to its shape is inevitable.
Step 7
If you store tires on rims, fold them horizontally on a flat surface; special boxes are available for this purpose. They do not transmit light and protect the material from various types of mechanical damage.
By applying these available guidelines, will you extend the life of your car tires? and the number of unpleasant surprises on the roads will be significantly reduced.
