After a long and painful process of choosing a car, during which all the opinions of experts and friends were repeatedly analyzed, the time comes to visit a car dealership for a long-awaited purchase.
If the make and model of the car has already been selected in advance, there is little left to do in the salon - to pay for the coveted unit of goods, draw up all the relevant documents and, in fact, pick up the vehicle. However, buying a car is a serious matter and any rush is absolutely useless here.
Trust but check
Undoubtedly, the salon of an authorized dealer is not a car market, where there is always a risk of falling into the networks of clever swindler sellers. But still, here you need to be as careful and attentive as possible, since even a new car may have drawbacks. This applies to both the car itself and the documentation.
To begin with, you should carefully study the serviceability of all visible mechanisms of the car and the integrity of the body. It is worth issuing documents only after this inspection. It should be clearly understood that the task of the sales manager of a car dealership (no matter how kind and helpful he may be) is to quickly "fuse" the car to the buyer.
Body condition, serviceability of mechanisms
First of all, you need to check the external condition of the vehicle, namely, to make sure that there are no scratches, scuffs, chips of paintwork on the body. At the same time, it is necessary to check the integrity of the headlights, lanterns, rubber seals, and also visually check the width and length of the gaps on the doors, hood and tailgate. In addition, you need to carefully check the cleanliness and general condition of the car's interior and trunk.
After inspecting the car body, it is necessary to check the operation of all main mechanisms: the accelerator pedal, clutch, brake; all sensors located on the front panel and in other places of the car; operation of the radio and electronic "chips" that are included in the package - parking sensors, navigator and others.
The next task is to open the hood and check the appearance of the engine and other units; the level of all necessary fluids; fastening of the accumulator, filters, tanks; condition of the wiring.
Documentation
After inspecting the car, you can pay the required amount to the cashier and draw up all the necessary documents: car registration certificate; MOT pass; documents confirming payment for a car and installation of additional equipment (crankcase protection, alarms); insurance.
Complete with the car, the salon is obliged to provide the buyer with a spare wheel, a jack, two keys from the car and alarm, a user manual, a service book with appropriate notes.
