With the onset of spring, motorists have many problems, among which the most important is the transition from winter tires to summer tires. Having changed the shoes of the car, the owners think about where to put winter tires so that they can be used again with the onset of next winter. When storing replacement tires, it is important to follow a few rules.
Instructions
Step 1
Inspect the condition of the tires. Does it make sense to store them or is it easier to throw them in the trash. Rinse the rubber and check for holes, various cuts, the degree of wear of the tread. If the examined rubber is not suitable for the next season, then it is best to throw it away. Prepare good tires for storage.
Step 2
Dry the washed rubber thoroughly and stack it on top of each other in a small stack. This will save space and also protect the tires from contact with other objects. Please note that this method is only suitable for tires with rims. If empty tubeless tires are folded in this way, they will rinse under their weight, which will lead to tire wrinkles, so it is best to fold them in an upright position, gently leaning against each other.
Step 3
Make sure that there is constant humidity in the room where the winter tires will be stored. Dry air and high pressure promote cracking. Do not cover the tires, let them have free access to air.
Step 4
Choose a free and uncluttered space. Foreign objects can damage tires. A garage corner specially prepared for tires is best suited. Please note that winter tires cannot be stored in special boxes for storing tires, which are sold at car dealerships. These boxes are only suitable for storing summer tires.
Step 5
Sign a contract with one of the auto centers for the storage of winter tires. After the documents are signed, all you have to do is hand over your tires to the employees of the center, who will wash, dry and carefully fold your tires before the next season. This option is ideal for those car owners who do not have storage space, but have the necessary amount of money to pay for the service.
