General rules

Do not disclose information about the anti-theft system used. Never leave ignition keys in the vehicle, not even for one minute. Don't let the hijackers fool you. Often, hijackers use a method in which the car's alarm is provoked several times in a row so that the owner of the car, having thought about a malfunction of the security system, turns it off.
Steering lock
A simple mechanical steering shaft locking device in practice turns out to be a fairly robust anti-theft system. The principle of the lock is extremely simple - it locks the steering wheel rotation. Devices of this type have a separate lock, which is most often burglar-proof, and the lock itself is made of durable metal. There are also pedal, gearbox and hood locks. Car alarm
Today, the market for anti-theft devices is overflowing with various types of car alarms: from the simplest ones, which are triggered by physical impact on the car body, to whole complexes with sensors of volume, weight, etc. Unfortunately, car alarm hacking technologies do not stand still, and today almost any of them can be hacked. Nevertheless, the installation of high-quality protection will significantly increase the safety of the car.
Immobilizer
This humble device is a relay that interrupts the vehicle's main electrical circuits, which in turn prevents the engine from starting. The installation of such a device does not require large expenses, but it should be remembered that, firstly, the immobilizer is not a universal means of protection against theft, and secondly, it does not prevent the thief from entering the passenger compartment or external damage to the car.
Satellite systems
Recently, such a method of protection against theft has become widespread (to be more precise, the search for an already stolen car), as the installation of satellite alarms. The principle of operation of this method is to install a GPS sensor on the car, which sends the coordinates of the location of the car to the satellite, which allows you to determine the location of the car with an accuracy of several meters. The vulnerability of this method of protection is the need for good communication between the sensor and the satellite, because even bad weather conditions and dense clouds can deteriorate the quality of signal reception, not to mention special "jamming" devices.
