Step 1
You can register, that is, put on record a car in any MREO of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate in the territory of the subject of the Russian Federation (region, territory) in which the individual lives. Check the exact address of the registering subdivisions on the official website of the traffic police in your region.
For registration of a vehicle (TS), 5 days are given from the date of its acquisition, customs clearance or deregistration (for example, by the previous owner). If you received the sign "TRANSIT", then register the car within its validity period - 20 days.
Step 2
The registration procedure itself takes several hours, depending on the workload of the registration department - from one to three hours. But this is provided that you have received the details in advance and paid the state fee for registering the vehicle. Pay half the duty through the operator or payment terminal of Sberbank of the Russian Federation and, together with the original receipt, provide the following to the traffic police:
documents certifying ownership of the vehicle (for example, a vehicle sale and purchase agreement);
documents confirming that the vehicle has not been arrested, not seized and there are no other prohibitions on it;
OSAGO policy;
power of attorney of the representative;
vehicle passports, registration plates, "TRANSIT" signs.
If you have purchased a used car, please also submit a written contract and application for registration.
All these documents must be in Russian or translated into Russian with a notarial certification of the correctness of the translation.
Step 3
Upon completion of the vehicle registration procedure, you must receive a vehicle registration certificate; passport for him; two registration plates.
Vehicles are usually registered with the owners indicated in the vehicle passports, contracts, etc. The car will be registered at the address indicated in your passport.
