In winter, it is highly discouraged to ride a motorcycle, as such operation causes serious harm to it, and also increases the risk of an emergency. Therefore, every owner of a two-wheeled horse should know several basic rules for its winter storage.

It is necessary

  • - warm water;
  • - cleaning agent for motorcycles and cars;
  • - polish;
  • - silicone lubricant-gel;
  • - clean rags.

Instructions

Step 1

Wash your motorcycle. It is best to do this just in front of the winter storage area, so that not a single particle of dirt gets on it, which can easily cause a corrosion center. Wash with lukewarm water and a special cleaning agent. Never use household cleaners! It is recommended to wipe the motorcycle with a dry cloth after washing. You can also apply polish.

Step 2

Choose a storage room. The temperature there should be in the range of 10-15 ° C. Please note that temperature fluctuations cause condensation to form on the motorcycle surface, which can cause corrosion. Therefore, it is very important that the room is dry and at a constant temperature. If there is no insulated garage, then the motorcycle can be stored at home in a place where it will not interfere with anyone.

Step 3

Apply a preservative to all chrome parts. Unscrew the candles carefully. Pour some oil into the candle wells using a syringe. Scroll with the starter several times. This is necessary in order for the oil to get onto the cylinder walls. Close all gas taps and fill the tank with gasoline to the eyeballs to get rid of the airlock, as condensation can form in it. Fuel stabilizer can be added to gasoline. Before starting operation, it is recommended to drain old gasoline and refill with fresh one.

Step 4

Purchase a silicone spray lubricant from your dealer. Treat all electrical connectors and assemblies with it, as well as rubber caps and tips. It is best to remove the tires and take them home after rubbing them with mastic. It is more correct to store the wheels in a suspended state.

Step 5

Fill with new oil before parking the motorcycle. During operation, the oil is oxidized. It generates elements that are dangerous to metal parts and can cause premature corrosion.

Step 6

Remove the battery and take it home. Charge it as much as possible to maintain a charge. Recharge the battery at least once a month. Never let the battery drain completely!

Step 7

Contact a motorcycle store if you are unable to leave your motorcycle in the garage or at home. Experts themselves can prepare and put your two-wheeled friend for the winter.
