The semi-axle assembly with the bearing is replaced with an increased, compared to usual, noise from the rear wheels of the VAZ 2106 car, both when driving in a straight line and when cornering. In this case, there is an increased axial and radial backlash of the semiaxis.
Necessary
- -Wrench for wheel nuts
- -Head "on 17"
- -Extension
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the wheel and brake drum.
Step 2
Rotate the axle shaft flange until the large diameter holes in it line up with two (out of four) brake shield nuts. Unscrew the nuts and remove the spring washers.
Step 3
Turn the axle shaft flange 90 ° until the large diameter holes in it match with the other two brake shield nuts, unscrew them and remove the spring washers.
Step 4
Fasten the brake drum with the outer end face to the axle shaft flange with two wheel bolts. Tighten the bolts by hand. (The bolts may not be turned by about 5 mm to ensure that the drum accelerates as an inertial mass. Be careful not to damage the brake drum.)
Step 5
With a sharp jerk towards yourself, pull out (not completely) the axle shaft from the rear axle beam.
Step 6
Remove the two wheel bolts and remove the brake drum from the axle shaft flange.
Step 7
Remove the axle shaft from the rear axle support.
Step 8
Install a new semi-axle assembly with bearings on a VAZ 2106 car in the reverse order of removal.
