To select the correct radar detector, you need to pay attention to the following characteristics:
- Ability to determine the ranges and modes of traffic police radars;
- At what distance the signal is detected;
- What is the ratio between real and false signals;
- What is the processing speed of the received data;
- The truthfulness of the results;
- Quality and safety;
- Additional functions.
Differences
The differences between individual types of detectors is that a high-quality radar detector is protected from erroneous alarms, in addition, it has a greater signal detection distance. A cheap version of radar detectors can react to surrounding signals: a cell phone, a walkie-talkie, a satellite dish, a power line, and so on, which makes them completely unsuitable for use in urban environments. Therefore, after purchasing such models of detectors, negative reviews appear about all radar detectors. Manufacturers of inexpensive radar detectors: Crunch, Star and Sho-me. Some have the longest sensing distance, while others have the quality of recognition and reliability. In this price category it is not possible to combine both. The middle class of radar detectors includes the oldest American manufacturers: Whistler, Cobra and Beltronics.
In the list of these models, you can quite easily pick up a good sample. Three Chinese brands are considered prestigious radar detectors that have the maximum capabilities that radar detectors can have. These are such models as: Escort, Beltronics and Valentine One. There is no first-class radar detector. No prototype can give a 100% guarantee.
