Some drivers prefer rear-view cameras to parking sensors. In fact, it serves the same function. Only unlike a parking radar, the camera gives a clear image of obstacles on the road. Accordingly, it will be much easier for the driver to navigate when reversing.

In addition, the camera can be connected to any car monitor or TV. If your navigator has a video output, you can connect the camera to it. So additional funds for the purchase of a monitor may not be required. There is one more nuance that speaks in favor of a rear view camera. Parktronic cannot determine the presence of an obstacle if its thickness is less than 3 cm, and objects that have an inclined surface. For example, such an object is a snowdrift. The camera gives a complete overview.

As for the installation of the rear-view camera, it is simply screwed under the visor of the rear license plate of the car. Of course, there are options that also bump into the bumper, just like the parking radar sensors. But they are not very popular. With this installation, it may be necessary to remove the bumper.

Manufacturers of modern parking systems have made the choice of drivers somewhat easier. Currently, there are parking sensors on the market that are equipped with rear-view cameras. When purchasing such a system, you will receive a sound notification of an approaching obstacle and its visual display on the monitor. However, the cost of such models is quite high compared to conventional parking sensors.
