Quite often, car owners install rear-view cameras in addition to parking sensors. They make reversing much easier, especially in the dark. You can install them yourself.

Instructions

Step 1

First, get the right camera from the store. It should be the perfect size for your vehicle. Otherwise, it will be problematic to install it. Give preference only to well-known camera manufacturers.

Step 2

After that, you can proceed directly to the installation. First, remove the tailgate closing loop, as well as the trim. Most often it is attached to the body with caps. Then detach and remove the plastic parts at the top and side of the rear window. They are held on latches.

Step 3

Unscrew and remove the lock guard. There is a nut above the license plate, which must also be unscrewed. Remove the lock. Loosen the wiper motor mount. Carefully try to remove the trunk opening handle. Then unfasten the two latches and remove the license plate cover.

Step 4

Pre-file the projections on the camera. It is recommended to install it instead of the standard backlight. If necessary, finish off the holes a little with a file or a knife towards the center. Do not forget about the seal. You can use a black window gasket that is sold in household markets.

Step 5

Connect the backlight wires to the old wires. Screw the negative wire to the door. Connect the positive wire to the reversing light. It remains to conduct a video signal. The best way to do this is to use a corrugated tube. Remove the luggage compartment trim and route the video signal cable underneath.

Step 6

Unscrew the panel to the right of the passenger's feet and run the wires there. Place them behind the glove compartment. Connect to the radio. If necessary, you can change the cabin filter immediately. For work, 9 meters of wires are enough for you. The LED in the camera will illuminate the license plate well. It is recommended to paint the standard backlight around the edges with black paint. The difference between the flashlight and the camera after that will not be very conspicuous.
