Therefore, you have to resort to tuning. One of the most important parts in car audio is the rear shelf that houses the speakers. Step 1
First, select the material from which you will make your acoustic shelf. Plastic and plastic, from which factory shelves are usually made, are not suitable, since they have a big drawback: they begin to rattle and crackle from sound and mechanical vibrations. It is best to use wood to make a shelf - it is easy to handle and less prone to explosiveness. A wooden sheet with a thickness of at least 25 millimeters is suitable.
Step 2
Make a detailed drawing of the future shelf. Take a piece of Whatman paper. Dismantle the factory shelf, put it on the Whatman paper so that it is completely on the sheet and circle the outline. Then remove the factory shelf. Measure and calculate all the holes in the shelf that you need, and plot them on the drawing. The drawing should be as accurate as possible.
Step 3
Now apply the markup on a sheet of wood according to the drawing you created. Check the markup carefully. Circle the main lines along which you will cut with a red pencil or felt-tip pen. Start cutting out the shelf. Make sure to cut carefully to avoid leaving large burrs at the edges.
Step 4
Process the resulting workpiece. Sand it to a smooth surface. Edges should also be processed to make them smooth and rounded. Try it on, everything should fit exactly.
Step 5
You can start installing the speakers. It is best to attach them to a sealant so that the speakers sit tightly in their sockets. Cut out the connectors in the speaker wiring so you can completely remove the shelf if necessary.
Step 6
Take care of the look of your shelf. You can sheathe it with any material. In terms of price-quality ratio, the Carpet is best suited. You can also use leather or leather substitutes. Consider mounting a shelf. To make the shelf less noise and vibration free, attach it with Velcro.
